This year's events were engaging, educative, and interactive. We had activities on reusable cups, zero waste, clothing waste, recycling pledge and recyclable items!

Recylemania 2017 continued in its effort to promote more recycling on campus. We had many fun events including Spin the Wheel Trivia, Recycle Weigh In, and Free Throw Fridays! Here's more from our 2017 campaign.

Have questions or comments about Recyclemania? Here are a few of the questions we mostly receive about our events.

1. Why do we participate in Recyclemania?

 To promote the concept of sustainability, and encourage our community to be diligent about sustainable options.

2. Who can get involved?

Everyone on campus can and is encouraged to participate in our events. 

3. How do I get involved?

We have several events each year. You can volunteer for an event. Send us an email at sustainability@siu.edu for more information volunteering with us. Also, remember to always recycle where applicable. Check out our recycling page for more on what to recycle: Recycling at SIU.

 4. How do I follow/track how we are doing?

The results for our diversion rates are entered into our profile weekly on the Recyclemania's website. At the end of the competition, final results are calculated and displayed here. 

5. What else can I do to help?

Join our Saluki Green Action Team to receive weekly tips via email on how to take action.
