Green Fund Grant Proposals The Sustainability Council is accepting the Green Fund Grant Proposals. The hard deadline for the proposals is April 7th. For more information, click here. We look forward to your proposals! 

Plarnathon | Every Tuesday during Earth Month | 6:15 PM | Lentz Basement 

SENSE will have workshops to teach everyone to make plarn and how to crochet plarn to mats. On the last Tuesday of April (4/30), they will announce the winner and give out prizes. Look at the attached flyer to sign up!

ECLIPSE | Monday, April 8th  

The 2024 solar eclipse promises to be an awe-inspiring celestial event, and SIU is the perfect place to witness it! Look at all the events happening on the day and the day leading up to it here. Sustainability and StraightUp Solar will be at the Technology Expo – stay tuned for details.

Papermaking Workshop | Thursday, April 18th | 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM | Student Sustainable Farms Transportation provided.  

This April, Niah Barbee, a SIU student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture (Production), will be leading a workshop on the art of papermaking! The paper produced from this workshop can be used for pressed flowers, classic stationery, and more! It’s happening on Thursday, April 18th from 4:30 to 6:30 PM. We are so happy to see students getting involved in sustainability! Register here!

Mark your calendars! This year’s Green Fund Grant Ceremony will be held on Monday, April 22nd (Earth Day!) from 3:00 to 4:30 in the Guyon Auditorium. We have an excellent ceremony planned with a light reception to follow. Hope to see you there!
