Hello Green Action Team!

Welcome to this week's action event! Remember: we are focusing on turning off lights that are not in use! 

Did You Know: Single incandescent bulbs cost 0.75 cents/hour to run? Leaving them on all night will cost 6 cents/night, which becomes 42 cents/week, which adds up to $21/year. That is the equivalent of about 38 pens to use throughout the semester. If just one lightbulb costs that much, multiply that by all of the lights you have in your home or that you see on campus!

Take Action Now: If you did not already, pick up a light switch sticker in the Innovation and Sustainability Hub and start using it.

To Win a Prize: Show us you are a team player. Upload a picture on social media of you being sustainable and turning off your lights.  Be sure to tag @siugreenaction or post to our Facebook page to be entered for a chance to win this month's prize!
