Hello Saluki Green Action Team! Biking is a great, sustainable form of transportation, as we learned last week. Walking is also a sustainable and healthy alternative!
Did You Know: Walking has a multitude of health benefits? Walking can help you lose weight, manage blood sugar levels, and even maintain a healthy heart. (Source: https://www.realsimple.com/health/fitness-exercise/benefits-walking#walking-7)
Take Action Now: SIU's campus layout provides easy walks from your residence halls to your classes, Morris Library, and the Student Center. At night, be sure to look for the Bright Paths. Apartments such as Evolve and University Village are also within a good walking distance from campus. What if you live a bit farther away from campus or the weather isn't very good? Check back next week for other alternative transportation options!
