Hello Green Action Team!

Time for a new Saluki Green Action Team monthly theme! Summer is in full swing and that means lots of home energy use. This month we are going to be sharing tips on how to save energy (and costs) at home!

Did You Know: For every degree a thermostat is raised during the summer, a homeowner can save 2-3 percent on their electricity bill? (Source: https://www.bounceenergy.com/articles/energy-efficiency/energy-efficiency-for-home-on-vacation)

Take Action Now: If you plan to take a vacation this summer set your thermostat higher, close your blinds/curtains to prevent your air conditioning from running too much, and unplug all of your appliances to keep your power bill low.

To Win a Prize: Show us how you are taking action to conserve energy. Post your methods to our Facebook page or tag us on Instagram/Twitter (@siugreenaction) to be entered for a chance to win this month's prize!

Invite your friends to join the team, too. If they mention that you referred them when they sign up, you'll receive an extra entry in our next prize drawing.

Keep up the great work,
